You’ve got to hand it to the perpetrators, i.e. the criminal establishment intent (in case you haven’t noticed) on laying waste to western nations and culture. They must have known that the types who aspire to positions of supposed service to the public would hide behind tried and tested avoidance techniques to dodge ever having to step up to the plate when it comes to the crunch.
In Oliver Mundell’s case it was The Almighty Power of Apathy. Why bother yourself taking difficult and uncomfortable action when you can do… nothing? When the Dumfriesshire MSP hangs up his gloves next year, no amount of positives he may have achieved during his ten-year tenure will ever compensate for turning a blind eye to child abuse.
But Mundell is not alone in turning his back on children whose rights were sacrificed on the holy altar of Covid-19. When it comes to institutions with a public remit, sheer ignorance seems to be the mode d’etre, and it has proven to be a significant method in avoiding any sort of accountability for the unlawful actions of the state. But, just when you thought that weapons-grade apathy could know no equal, up pops a serious contender for top spot.
Enter stage right (well, wrong): Sue Grant, secretary of Glencairn Community Council.
Ms Grant was copied into an email outlining the Declaration of Dumfries campaign that resulted in Dumfries & Galloway Council admitting, in black and white, that they had no authority to mask children in schools without consent. Accompanying that admission was the recent FOISA response from the Scottish government which states, plain as day:
“The Scottish Government did not grant local authorities in Scotland the authority to enforce mask-wearing or face covering wearing in schools without parental or child consent.”
And Ms Grant’s response?
“This is obviously your personal viewpoint. Please do not contact Glencairn community council again on this or any other matter.”
In this age of a man can be a woman, a woman can be a man, and 2 + 2 =5, mental gymnastics have become the norm—and now, according to Glencairn CC's secretary, evidenced fact can be considered to be ‘personal viewpoint’.
This is utter nonsense, of course, and sadly Ms Grant’s was not the only negative comeback; in fact, all were negative, including responses such as:
“You do not have my permission to use my email address for this purpose, no matter how worthy you feel the cause is.”
“This is a breech [sic] of GDPR - remove me from this list immediately.” - Katy Duncan (Dr), secretary of Tynron Community Council (email address openly available online).
“Sorry. I will certainly NOT be supporting this or sharing it with my community council…. You should not hijack any community councils for your own purposes or vendettas.” - Norrie Brydson, secretary of Torthorwald Community Council.
It is astonishing that an issue affecting almost every family in the region can be considered as someone’s “own purposes”. You could say that this is yet more mental gymnastics, but it appears—as with the Glencairn secretary’s ridiculous retort—to be a simple case of stupidity.
In the state’s mission to avoid accountability for its own unlawful conduct, clinical-grade stupidity seems to be giving weapons-grade apathy a run for its money as its most effective superpower. This was confirmed by the actions of the jabbed-up, masked-up masses who conformed unthinkingly to every diktat and believed every piece of mainstream news propaganda during Covid without question.
But what is causing this apathy and nonsensical behaviour? Surely people cannot naturally be so moronic, nor so indifferent about the maltreatment of minors?
German physician and author Michael Nehls perhaps provides the answers in his 2023 publication The Indoctrinated Brain, in which he contends that modern societal trends and policies are contributing to a decline in mental capacity and autonomy. Nehls, a medical doctor and molecular geneticist, argues that this decline is not coincidental but the result of a deliberate strategy to undermine individual critical thinking.
The book introduces a neurobiological mechanism that, according to Nehls, is being externally manipulated, leading to increased rates of depression, earlier onset of Alzheimer’s disease, and a general erosion of cognitive function. He suggests that global crises—such as pandemics, climate change debates, and geopolitical conflicts—are being leveraged to facilitate this manipulation, effectively “indoctrinating” the human brain and diminishing personal freedoms.
Whatever the reasons, not a single one of the members of Dumfries & Galloway’s community councils that were contacted showed the slightest concern about the child rights violations they’d been presented with, and such insouciance leads us to wonder what this level of apathy and denial might signify. What could be in store for a society so lacking in integrity?
Enter stage left: Chat GPT. Prompt: “Historically, if a country, nation or culture is apathetic towards evidence of rights violations and instead attacks the whistleblowers presenting it, where is this likely to lead?”
The AI tool’s summary is instructive:
“Historically, when a country, nation, or culture ignores evidence of rights violations and instead targets whistleblowers, it tends to signal and accelerate a shift toward authoritarianism, systemic impunity, and institutional decay. This path has several common and deeply concerning outcomes.
Historical Examples:
Nazi Germany: Early whistleblowers (including judges and journalists) were suppressed, enabling the full establishment of totalitarian rule.
Soviet Union: Dissenters and truth-tellers (like Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn) were imprisoned or exiled; rights abuses scaled rapidly behind a facade of control.
Chile under Pinochet: Human rights abuses were hidden, and whistleblowers were framed as enemies of the state.
Attacking whistleblowers instead of addressing rights violations is a clear red flag. It typically indicates deeper authoritarian tendencies and a disregard for accountability. The long-term effects are almost always negative—leading to repression, instability, loss of legitimacy, and often, societal or political crisis.”
In other words, we’re headed for hell in a handcart.

Mike, very well written. Public across world need to be consistently reminded about criminal Fascism enforced by criminal Ruling Elite during C19 Fakedemic and poisonous Vaccines enforced for this Liedemic. All of us need to campaign for the strict punishment for criminals who promoted and enforced Fascism during C19 Fakedemic, because if they are not punished they will repeat similar crimes again
Excellent article Mike and much respect for being a consistent voice opposing all that was done in the name of 'COVID.' I'd be curious to see an MSP reply vs Scottish COVID inquiry evidence.
'‘A ‘HUGE IMPACT’ on speech and language development…that goes back to the masks…ALOT IF IT comes back to masks.’’
